After successfully installing the Connected Business and setting up the Connected Business configurations, follow the steps below to configure your database connection before signing in.
- From the Sign-In page, the default configuration is displayed. Click the Change button or press F2, if you want to switch to other database connection by selecting the company name in the configuration field.
- Once the Configuration tool is diplayed, choose the desired company database under the company setup. Click Set Default button to set it as the new default company database. You may also add your own company by clicking on the New button found on the menu options.
- In the connection protocol, select on the following options:
- Use LAN Connection Only – make sure you are connected to a local area network.
- Use Internet Connection Only – make sure you are currently online to the internet.
- Use LAN or Internet Connection Only – if you want to set this as your connection, specify the connection you will use this time in the configuration field.
- Test the Connections in the Configuration tool. You may configure the application to connect through LAN or internet or both.
- You may now sign in using the default user name and password or to your new account after setting up new user accounts in the Connected Business. Check the Remember Me checkbox to automatically let Connected Business remember your account name and password.
- Click Sign in button to go to the Connected Business main menu.
Upon signing-in, it is recommended to change the default admin and guest user passwords to avoid security risks. You may change login password from the System Manager > Accounts > All Account.
Force Sign-Out Current User(s)
Oftentimes, you may encounter a prompt message that won’t allow you to sign in to Connected Business. The message prompt appears like this: “You are signed in to another computer. Please logout from Computer <Hostname> to continue”.
Follow the steps below to forcibly log out the current user(s) from the Connected Business application,
- Click on Start > All Programs > Connected Business 13.2 > Tools > Connected DBMC 13.2 to access the Database Management Console.
- Connect to the server you are currently logged in.
- Once connected, the Database Management Console for Connected Business application will be displayed.
- On the Server list section, select the database where you encounter the login error during sign in.
- Click the User Login tab on the right panel of the screen.
- Click on the User Code column; select the user code you used when signing in. Click the Force Sign Out button.
- Sign Out – allows signing out the current user out of the Connected Business.
- Sign Out All - allows signing out current multiple users out of the Connected Business.
- Click Save and Close button from the menu.
- You will now be able to sign in again to the Connected Business application. Make sure you are using your own account name and password.
