Delivery Method Translation

When importing orders etc. from an external system, it frequently occurs that there is a difference in the naming of the Delivery Methods between Connected Business and the external system.

While this can be resolved by adding extra Delivery Methods to Connected Business so that there is an exact match between the Delivery Method names, this can be confusing for users if the same physical delivery method has 2 different names.

To prevent this, eShopCONNECTED can perform Delivery Method Translation between the external system and Connected Business.

Setting the EnableDeliveryMethodTranslation config setting to Yes causes an additional Delivery Method Translation tab to appear on the Config Settings form. Selecting this tab enables the expected Source Delivery Methods, and where relevant the Source Delivery Class, to be entered and the corresponding Connected Business Shipping Method and Shipping Method Group to be selected.

With some external systems e.g. Channel Advisor, the external system provides an interface which eShopCONNECTED can use to read the Source Delivery Methods and Classes and in these cases, these columns on the Delivery Method Translation grid will have list boxes for the selection of the required values. Otherwise, these columns will require manual entry of the values from the external system.
