Use eShopCONNECTED with Shop.com
An eShopCONNECTOR is available for eShopCONNECTED to provide an interface to the Shop.com shopping site.
To use eShopCONNECTED with Shop.com,
- You need to activate and configure the Shop.com eShopCONNECTOR. See Shop.com eShopCONNECTOR topic for details.
- Once you have activated the Shop.com eShopCONNECTOR and edited and saved the config settings, the eShopCONNECTED Shop.com function requires minimal user intervention.
- The Connected Business installer will have added an eShopCONNECTED virtual directory in Internet Information Server (IIS) in the default web site of the computer where the installation was carried out, or if there are multiple web sites, you will have been asked to select the web site for the creation of the eShopCONNECTED virtual directory.
- Assuming that the chosen web site had a URL of www.MyServer.com, the eShopCONNECTED Shop.com import web service will have a URL of www.MyServer.com/eShopCONNECT/ShopComOrder.ashx. Replacing www.MyServer.com with the root URL for the chosen web site on your network will give you the eShopCONNECTED Shop.com Import web service URL on your network. You will need to enter this URL within your configuration settings on Shop.com so that Shop.com knows where to post your orders.
- The eShopCONNECTED Web Service accepts XML data from Shop.com in the form of an HTTP Web Post and the XML data is processed in real time. Each record in the XML data is processed separately and the response from the web service function will contain details of the Connected Business Sales Order created, or the error encountered.
- For test purposes, the eShopCONNECTED installation includes a Web Import Test page. See eShopCONNECTED Web Import Test topic for more details.
- Once a Sales Order has been imported into Connected Business, the eShopCONNECTED Windows Service will automatically send Status update messages to Shop.com in accordance with their Order Status Integration (OSI) Guide using their XML Status message format and an HTTPS web POST to upload the message.
