Product Ratings
Product ratings and customer comments are effective ways of encouraging customer engagement with your products and are valuable data points for evaluating the quality of your inventory. You can enable product ratings on your web store through the Connected Business backend.
Application Configuration
To enable product rating to be displayed on the web store:

Go to the eCommerce module, Setup > Application Configuration.

On the Application Configuration form, the List tab will display the various elements on the web store that can be configured. Type into the search bar the word "rating" to filter for product rating configurations.

Double click on the group name labeled Ratings.Enabled.

Clicking Ratings.Enabled will display the Details Tab, where the different elements of the ratings can be edited.
Look for the field labeled Config Value. Type the word TRUE into the text field before clicking Save.

If the Config Value for Ratings.Enabled is set to "true" product ratings will be displayed on the web store. If it is set as "false" the product ratings will be hidden.

Other rating-related configurations that can be enabled include RatingsCanBeDoneByAnons. You can find this group name on the list tab of the Application Configuration and double click on the entry to load its details.

On the Config Value field, you can also toggle between the "true" and "false" settings. If the value is "true," browsers who are not signed into their account can leave ratings. If the value is "false" only shoppers who have registered and signed into your web store can leave ratings.

The configuration labeled FeaturedItemsDisplayRating controls the appearance of the Featured Items on the home page of your web store.

If the Config Value is "true" the star rating will also be displayed for the featured items, as is demonstrated in this image.

Enable Ratings Through Web Admin Panel
If you want to enable product rating remotely, you can also access application configuration settings through the Web Admin Panel. To learn how to access it, read our documentation on how to Navigate the Web Admin Site.
On the web admin panel, go to the Setup tab and click on the App Config menu. Use the search bar to filter the different web store elements.

Click on one of the items to expand the fields. You can then toggle between "true" and "false" settings, the same way as in Connected Business.

Web Store Functionality
The product ratings are displayed for every product page within your web store. For a customer to create a new rating, they can find and click on the ratings section at the bottom of the product page.

A pop-up dialog box will be displayed, containing a 5-star rating field and text field. The customer can click on the number of stars they want to assign to a product, and add a comment on its quality. The review will not be processed if the text field remains empty.

Click Submit to add the review. You may need to refresh the product page to see the new rating.

The Product Ratings section will contain a bar graph, showing the distribution of the star rating, as well as the average rating of all the customers.
Click on the link labeled View Comments to expand the customer reviews. You can sort the entries based on the date the on which the review was submitted, the rating, and the perceived helpfulness of the review.
