Maintain Supplier Module Setup and Preferences
This section will discuss how to configure preferences for the Supplier module. The Supplier Preferences allows you to set your preferences for supplier purchase orders, bills and payables.
Steps
From the Supplier module, select Setup > Preferences. The Supplier Preferences form will display.

| General | General preferences for the supplier module. |
| When creating a new transaction, automatically focus on | You may select where you want the cursor to appear upon opening a new transaction form in the supplier module e.g. new purchase order. You may select to initially display the cursor in the first field of the Supplier tab or in the first column of the Inventory Item tab. |
| Apply same supplier across all warehouses | If the supplier can ship ordered items to any warehouse you have, you enable (check) this option to switch destination of warehouses to receive the ordered goods. |
| Use Supplier Tax Code for line items | If checked, the purchase tax code setup for the supplier will be applied to all inventory items. Uncheck this option to apply the tax setup for the inventory items. |
| Filter items according to supplier | If checked, the inventory item dropdpwn list in the Supplier transaction forms (e.g. Purchase Order) will only display the products set up for the supplier. |
| Use supplier GL Account code for Services/Non Stock item lines | If checked, the account code for the “Other Purchases” in the Supplier GL Class Template will be used as the default purchase account in service and non stock item lines. |
| Bills | Preferences for supplier bills. |
| Automatically put bill on hold when total reaches | When checked, you can enter the maximum amount to put the bill on hold. When a bill reaches the specified amount, the On Hold checkbox in the Bill form will be checked. |
| Balance order header from the item lines | When checked, the net total and tax/vat total in the header of the bill form will be automatically balanced with the net total and the Tax/VAT total of the item lines. |
| Compute tax after potential discount is deducted | If enabled (checked), the system will calculate the tax after the potential discount has been deducted from the total balance. |
| Accounts Payables | Preferences for account payable transactions. |
| Default Bank Account for payments | When checked, you may select a default bank account for funds used in supplier payments. |
| Maximum amount to write off | When checked, you may enter a maximum amount to write off in supplier outstanding balances. In Connected Business, the user can write off a quantity greater than what is specified. |
| EC Specifics | Default values for EC Specifics (for trading in the UK). |
| Terms of Delivery | You may select the default Terms of Delivery for purchases. The Terms of Delivery are explained here. |
| NOTC | You may select a default NOTC (Nature of Transaction) for purchases. The default NOTC (Nature of Transactions) are explained here. |
