Virtual Pages

This article demonstrates the use of assigning virtual pages in Connected Business eCommerce.

Virtual Pages are basically pages linked to an existing entity in the website. This allows the user to copy existing items from one category to another, assign relevant or helpful topics, or even load a website within the webstore for easy access.

Virtual pages can only be assigned to categories, departments, and manufacturer entities.

This feature is only available in Connected Business v14 and higher.

Assign Virtual Page

To assign a virtual page to an entity,

  1. Create a new entity (e.g. Category - New ). Go to eCommerce module > Category > New Category. The Category form will be displayed.  Enter the details for the category. In the Type section, set  the behavior type to Web Menu.

You can only  assign virtual pages to entities that do not have items assigned.

    • Show external page - Tick this option if you want to link an existing website to the webstore. This allows the user to load a website within the webstore.  Simply enter the website URL (e.g. www.woohaa.com) and save changes.  If you want to open the website in a new tab, tick the Open in new tab checkbox.

In the webstore, the website linked to the category will be displayed.

You can do the same procedure for assigning virtual pages to department and manufacturer entities.
