Renaming column grids may prove to be more tedious than just right-clicking and retyping, but you may edit a lot more field properties from the Edit System Field option.



Renaming Column Grids

  1. From the System Manager module > Customize > Role.



    The User Rolelist form will be displayed.


  2. You can edit the forms for specific user roles logged in to Connected Business by selecting your preferred user role from the User Role list form. The User Role form will be displayed. From here you can choose what module you wish to modify its forms. Double-click on a module to open the User Role layout form.



  3. There will be many items from the Detail tab to select from.



    Select one item from the Detail tab in the form to edit its corresponding form layout.



    From here you can customize your selected form's layout and functions.

  4. Select a form that has a grid layout, or a table view. From the column area, right-click and select Column Customization.



  5. Right-click again on the column grid you want to rename and select Edit System Field.



  6. The System Field Properties form will be displayed. From here you may edit the properties of the selected column grid by simply entering your preferred values on corresponding fields.

    From the Multilingual section of the form, select the appropriate Language Code from the dropdown list. Input also your preferred column grid name from the Display Label field.

Other Functions in the System Field Properties Form

The following table lists and describes the properties for the system fields:

Fields

Description

Column

Column Name

This contains the name of the column. Read-only.

Type

This contains the data type of the column. Read-only.

Length

This contains the length of the column. Read-only.

List Type

This specifies the type of list-item marker in a list. Options are:

  • Static List
  • Dynamic List
  • None
Default

This contains the default value of the column.

Format Type

This contains the default format type to use.

Search

Searchable

This determines whether the column will appear on search list or not.

Show on List

This determines whether the column will appear on search list or not.

Show on Class

This contains the length of the column. Cannot be edited.

Business Rule

Nullable

This determines whether the column will be nullable or not.

Audit

This determines whether the column will be included in audit searches or not.

Required

This determines if this column is required to be inputted with data

Read-Only

This determines whether the data in this column is read-only or not.
