Publish Inventory
eShopCONNECTED can publish your Inventory Items onto certain eCommerce web sites provided you have activated the appropriate eShopCONNECTOR.
When you install eShopCONNECTED, it adds an additional eShopCONNECTED tab on the Connected Business Inventory Item form. The eShopCONNECTED tab in turn has separate tabs for each supported eCommerce web site - currently ASPDotNetStorefront, eBay, Magento and Shop.com.
As each supported eCommerce web site has different requirements and settings, please see the relevant sub topic for details of how to publish your Inventory Items on Amazon etc.
This topic includes publishing your inventory on:
- Amazon
- ASPDotNetStoreFront
- Channel Advisor
- eBay
- Magento
- Shop.com
Publish Your Inventory on Amazon
- Publishing on Amazon will be available on future releases.
Publish Your Inventory on ASPDotNetStoreFront
Provided you have activated the ASPDotNetStorefront eShopCONNECTOR, publishing your Inventory Items on your ASPDotNetStorefront site is simple.
- Open the Inventory Item that you want to publish, then select the eShopCONNECTED tab and when that tab is displayed, make sure the ASPDotNetStorefront tab is selected.
- If you only have a single ASPDotNetStorefront Site ID, then this will have been selected automatically for you, but if you have activated the ASPDotNetStorefront eShopCONNECTED OR for multiple sites, then you will need to select which Site ID the Inventory Item is to be published on.
- Set the Publish on ASPDotNetStorefront check box and eShopCONNECTED will then download the latest Catalog list from your ASPDotNetStorefront site and enable remaining fields.
- The rest of the ASPDotNetStorefront tab contains a number of commonly used fields plus a list of other properties which can be set on ASPDotNetStorefront.
- Once you have completed the various fields, save your changes and eShopCONNECTED will automatically build the necessary xml files and upload them to ASPDotNetStorefront.
Publish Your Inventory on Channel Advisor
- Publishing on Channel Advisor will be available on future releases.
Publish Your Inventory on eBay
- Publishing on eBay will be available on future releases.
Publish Your Inventory on Magento
Provided you have activated the Magento eShopCONNECTOR, publishing your Inventory Items on your Magento site is simple.
- First open the Inventory Item that you want to publish, then select the eShopCONNECTED tab and when that tab is displayed, make sure the Magento tab is selected.
- If you only have a single Magento Instance, then this will have been selected automatically for you, but if you have activated the Magento eShopCONNECTED OR for multiple Instances, then you will need to select which Instance the Inventory Item is to be published on.
- Set the Publish on Magento check box and eShopCONNECTED will then download the latest Catalog list from your Magento site and enable remaining fields.
- The rest of the Magento tab contains a number of commonly used fields plus a list of other properties which can be set on Magento.
- Once you have completed the various fields, save your changes and eShopCONNECTED will automatically build the necessary xml files and upload them to Magento.
Some of the items in the Magento Product Attributes grid such as Color are stored in Magento as a numeric identifier. Due to limitations in the current Magento API, we are unable to read the tables which relate the numeric values to their readable values e.g. 32 means Red and 43 means Blue so we cannot currently populate list boxes for such fields for example containing the Magento color options. We are seeking a solution to this, but in the meantime, you will need to set such attributes in Magento once the Inventory Item has been uploaded to Magento.
Publish Your Inventory on Shop.com
Provided you have activated the Shop.com eShopCONNECTOR, publishing your Inventory Items on Shop.com is simple.
- First open the Inventory Item that you want to publish, then select the eShopCONNECTED tab and when that tab is displayed, make sure the Shop.com tab is selected.
- Set the Publish on Shop.com check box and the Shop.com Catalog ID field will be enabled.
- If you only have a single Shop.com Catalog ID, then this will have been selected automatically for you, but if you have activated the Shop.com eShopCONNECTED OR for multiple Catalog IDs, then you will need to select which Catalog ID the Inventory Item is to be published on.
- eShopCONNECTED will then download the latest updates to the Shop.com Department (Category) list from the Lerryn eShopCONNECTED web service and enable the Department (Category) fields.
- To simplify the installation of eShopCONNECTED, and reduce the volume of initial data to imported, much of which may never be used, the Shop.com eShopCONNECTOR only downloads Browse Tree list and XML tag property data for a particular Amazon root category when you first publish an Inventory Item in that root Browse node. Thereafter, it merely downloads changes when you publish new Inventory Items. This does mean that there may be a few seconds delay when you first set the Publish on Shop.com checkbox and select your Catalog ID.
- Selection of the Shop.com Department (Category) is normally a 2 step process. When you publish an Inventory Item, the Shop.com Department (Category) initially displays the root department.
- When you select an item in the list, eShopCONNECTED copies this to the Department (Category) field and populates the list with the relevant sub-categories, where available. Selection of a sub-category will then normally complete the process and save the relevant Attributes string for inclusion in your Shop.com product file.
- The rest of the Shop.com tab contains a number of commonly used fields plus a list of other properties which are relevant to the selected root category.
- The Properties grid has a Help button which will display the Shop.com description and other information for a property where available in a popup form. Once the popup form has been opened, selecting a different property in the grid will automatically update the popup form information with that for the selected property.
- Once you have completed the various fields, save your changes and eShopCONNECTED will automatically build the necessary xml files and upload them to Shop.com.
