Data Feeds

This article discusses how to create and export data feeds and feed specifications for shopping engines such as Bing, Google, ShopZilla, theFind, etc. in Connected Business.

The Data Feeds Wizard in Connected Business allows you to create or export data feeds template and feed specifications for your shopping engine. The field names in the wizard are already mapped to the required custom fields of your preferred shopping engine.

Create Data Feeds

Prior to creating the data feeds, make sure that you check the data feed requirements with your shopping engine.

To create data feeds, go to eCommerce module > Setup > Data Feeds Exports and the Data Feeds Wizard will be displayed. Select how you want to create the data feeds.

A. Use Existing Template

Select this option if you want to use an existing template for creating your data feeds.  You can choose the template from the list of available shopping engine data feeds templates. If you want to use an existing template,

  1. Tick the radio button next to the Use Existing Template option and select the data feed template of your preferred shopping engine. Click Next to be directed to the Data Feeds Template page.

  2. In the Data Feeds Template page, select the language to be used in the template from the Language drop down menu.

    If you have multiple target countries, you need to export the data feed in the local language of each country where you want your products to be displayed in the search results.

  3. In the grid, the values in the Field Names are the fields used in Connected Business which are mapped to the custom field names required by the selected shopping engine.

  4. Click Start Export button to start exporting the data.

    The data exported will be in Excel format. Before exporting, check the data feed format requirement with your shopping engine.

  5. Save the exported template in your local drive and click Finish to close the wizard.

 

B. Create New Template

Select this option if you want to create your own data feeds template. To create a new template,

  1. Tick the radio button next to the Create New Template option and specify the template name in the field right next to it.  Click Next to be directed to the Create Template page.

  2. In the Create Template page, select the language to be used in the Language field drop down menu.

  3. In the Available Product Info section, select the column you want to include in the template by clicking the Include button () or if you want to include all columns, click on the Include All button (). If you want to deselect or exclude a field, click on Exclude button () or click on Exclude All button () to deselect all columns.

    By default, the ItemCode and ItemName columns are already included in the template and cannot be deleted.

  4. After selecting the column names to be included  or excluded in the template, click Save Template button and click Yes in the pop-up window to confirm changes.

    Once saved, you can no longer edit or modify the fields in the template. The template will also be included in the list of existing templates.

  5. If you want to export the template you created, click on Start Export button.

  6. Once the data is exported, click Next and Finish to close the wizard.

Delete Data Feeds Template

If you want to delete a data feeds template,

  1. Tick the Use Existing Templates option, and from the list of available templates, select the template you want be deleted.

  2. Click Next to be directed to the Data Feeds Template page.

  3. In the Data Feeds Template page, click on Delete Template button and click Yes in the pop-up window to confirm deletion.

  4. Click Next and Finish to close the wizard.
