Create POS Transactions

This article demonstrates the processes and procedures in creating and different transactions in Connected Business POS.

 

 

Create Sale Transaction

To create a Sale or Invoice transaction, select Sale as the Transaction Type. By default, the transaction type is set to Sale upon logging in to POS.You can change the default POS transaction in Settings > General.

Enter the items to be purchased. Click Complete and select the payment type (Cash, Check, Credit Card or click On Account if amount is to be added to the customer's outstanding balance).

After processing the payment, a print preview of the receipt will be displayed with the details of the transaction (if Auto-print is disabled in POS preferences). You can choose to print the receipt or close the window for another transaction.

To view the list of sale transactions, click the Transactions button and select Sales. From here, you can choose to process the payment, return, or print the receipt for the sale transaction.

Create Order Transaction

To create an order, select Order as the Transaction Type.

Enter the items to be purchased. Click Complete and select the payment type (Cash, Check, Credit Card or click On Account if amount is to be added to the customer's outstanding balance).

To view the list of order transactions, click the Transactions button and select Orders. From here, you can choose to print the receipt, update or convert the order to sale.

Create Quote Transaction

To create a quote transaction, select Quote as the Transaction Type.

Enter items to be purchased and click Complete. A print preview of the receipt will be displayed with the details of the transaction (if Auto-print is disabled in POS preferences). You can choose to print the receipt or close the window for another transaction.

To view the list of quote transactions, click the Transactions button and select Quotes. From here, you can choose to print the receipt or convert the quote to order.

Update Order

To update an order, click the Transactions button and select Orders.

The list of order transactions will be displayed. Select the order to be updated and click Update.

The order transaction will be displayed in the POS screen. Make the necessary changes in the order (add / delete items, apply discounts, etc).Click Complete and select Update to apply the changes.

A print preview of the new order receipt will be displayed with the details of the transaction (if Auto-print is disabled in POS preferences). You can choose to print the receipt or close the window for another transaction.

Suspend Sale Transaction

If you have a sale transaction in progress that is not ready to be tendered yet, you can suspend the transaction until it is completed.

You can only suspend unposted Sale transactions.

To suspend a sale transaction, simply click Complete and select Suspend.

The system will automatically close the transaction and a preview of the suspension receipt will be displayed (if Auto-print is disabled).

To view the list of suspended sales, click the Transactions button and select Suspended Sales.

Resume Suspended Sale

To resume a suspended sale transaction, click the Transactions button and select Suspended Sales. The list of suspended sales will be displayed.

Select the sale transaction to be resumed and click Resume.

The sale transaction details will be displayed in the POS screen and the Transaction Type will be set to Resume Sale.

Update the transaction (add/delete items, apply discounts, etc) and click Complete to process the payment or suspend the sale (as needed).

Create POS Credit Memo

To create a credit memo for a POS transaction, set the Transaction Type to Return.

You can only process returns for posted invoices.

The list of sale transactions will be displayed. Select the invoice to be processed and click Return.

The transaction details will be displayed in the POS screen. Click Complete and select the payment type for the credit memo. A preview of the return receipt will be displayed with the details of the transaction (if Auto-print is disabled in POS preferences).You can choose to print the receipt or close the window for another transaction.

To view the list of returns, click the Transactions button and select Returns.
