The CSSN SDK is installed separately from Connected Business The scan lead option found in the CRM module can be best used if the CSSN SDK installer is properly installed. Clicking on the Scan Lead button will display a form informing you to install the CSSN installer. Click OK then it will redirect you to the documentation guide on how to properly install the Card Scanning option.

This guide will help you on how to install SDK for Card Scanning. Below are the prerequisites for installing the CSSN SDK file in your machine.

    • Uninstall any CSSN SDK version prior to installing the new one.

    • Make sure that no scanning device is connected to your computer.

    • Download the latest CSSN SDK Installer.

 

Install CSSN SDK


  1. Run the CSSN SDK Installer.

  2. On the Welcome page, click Next button to continue or press [Alt + N] keys.


  3. On the ReadMe File page, click on the I Agree button or press [Alt + I] keys.


  4. On the Destination Location, click on the Next button or press [Alt + N] keys.


  5. On the Select SDK Components, tick the checkboxes for options you want to be installed:


    1. Driver License, ID and Passports
    2. Business Cards
    3. Medical Cards

  6. Click Next button to continue or press [Alt + N] keys.


  7. On the Installation type page, select which type you want to install:
  • Express Installation- this type of installation will automatically install all the files the SDK needs including all regions. We recommend using this installation type.
    1. You will be directed to the software activation page. Select only ScanShell 800N\NR Scanner on the list. Click Next button to continue or press [Alt + N] keys.


    2. On the Start Installation page, click on Next button to begin installing the CSSN SDK.


    3. Click on the Finish button or press [Alt + F] keys to complete the installation for SDK.
  • Custom Installation- this type of installation gives you the option to select which regions you want to use by not installing other regions files.
    1. You will be directed to select which regions you would like to have installed. Select on regions: USA, Canada, South America, Europe, Australia, Asia, General Documents, Africa and Passports. Click Next button to continue or press [Alt + N] keys.

    2. You will be directed to the software activation page. Select the driver for ScanShell 800N\NR Scanner on the list. Click Next button to continue or press [Alt + N] key+s. Note: If you are using a device which is not listed in the Scanner List and if it’s a TWAIN device then select TWAIN Scanner option.

    3. On the Start Installation page, click on Next button to begin installing the CSSN SDK.

    4. Click on the Finish button or press [Alt + F] keys to complete the installation for SDK.

If in case you have clicked the Cancel button while SDK is currently being installed in your machine, a Hardware Installation form appears. Click on the Continue Anyway button to continue the installation process.  This will not affect your local machine.

After the SDK installer is successfully installed, you may now connect the scanner device to your computer. If it is a scanner device provided by CSSN Inc and installed the drivers correctly, you may check the listed device by navigating through Start and right click on Computer > Properties > Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers.

Always make sure to connect the device’s USB port at the back side of your computer. The front side of your computer does not have enough power for scanning purposes.

Scan Business Cards

Follow these steps to scan business cards and automatically create a lead without the need to enter the specific details including the addresses, phone numbers of the lead.

  1. Navigate to the CRM module.

  2. Click on Lead > Scan Lead. The Scan Business Card form will display.

    If you do not have an activation key, a prompt will display asking you to enter the activation code. If you have a valid activation code, you may now proceed to scan business cards.


  3. Click on the Scan button. You may also tick on “Scan automatically when card has been detected” checkbox if you are scanning a number of cards.

  4. After the card has been scanned, the information on the business card will be reflected on the scan business card form.

    The scanner cannot detect texts perfectly so if in case there are errors, you may edit the details as necessary.


  5. Click on the Create Lead button.

    1. For duplicate records. The system detects when there are identical records of the business card when creating leads. Once you have scanned a business card with the same lead name, contact name or address, a prompt will be displayed. Click Yes to continue creating one. Otherwise, click No.


    2. The system will generate the scanned details to a new lead. The lead form will display.

    3. Click on Save and Close button.
